The Blue Lagoon, Iceland

THE BLUE LAGOON, ICELAND. This trip to Iceland is a collaboration together with Icelandair. One of my highlights during the trip was our visit to the Blue Lagoon, this geothermal spa is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. The spa is located in a lava field in Grindavik on the Reykjavik Peninsula on southwestern Iceland. The warm waters are rich in minerals like silica and sulfur and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help some people suffering from skin diseases such as psoriasis. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 37–39 °C. Don’t forget to book your tickets to the Blue lagoon in advance, as it is one of the most popular attractions in Iceland pretty much everyday is fully booked so this is not the place to visit if you like being spontaneous, planning is a must.

They have a bar in the blue lagoon as well as a clay mask bar where you can try two different facials, Johan and I tried both and I could really feel a difference in my skin after trying them both. I should have bought some skin products with me from their shop, this place does wonders for the skin, that’s for sure! The smoothest way to get to the Blue lagoon is for sure by bus, it takes 40 minutes from Reykjavik.

THE BLUE LAGOON, ICELAND.
