BELLES RIVES IN JUAN LES PINS. Johan and I went to Juan les Pins for two days to stay at the most legendary hotel on the French riviera Hotel Belles Rives. The american author Scott Fitzgerald and his wife came here in the 1920’s and fell in love with the then little house that was situated here and decided to rent it and call it Villa Saint Louis. The good times of the blossoming 1920’s took place here with wild parties for high society with guests such as Ramon Novarro, Hemingway, Gerald and Sarah Murphy, Rudolph Valentino, Florence and Frank Jay Gould and Picasso. Scott wrote the book The Great Gatsby after his wild days here with never ending Champagne parties. A few years after this the Villa Saint Louis was made in to a hotel and was named to Belles Rives.
It felt amazing to stay at a legendary hotel like this with such a vivid history and I love that the hotel is family owned since it was made in to a hotel in the 1930’s. It is soon the fourth generation that will take over the hotel that creates a charm to the hotel that is hard to achieve if the business is not within the family, you can feel a very tangible realness around the property which I love. In honour of the history of the hotel and Scott Fitzgerald the hotel still throw big Champagne parties every year and they always have a filled social calendar with events for the hotel guests to take part in.
BELLES RIVES IN JUAN LES PINS. Jag och Johan åkte till Juan les Pins i två dagar för att bo på ett av de mest legendariska hotellen på rivieran nämligen Hotel Belles Rives. Den amerikanska författaren Scott Fitzgerald och hans fru blev kära i det lilla huset som låg på denna plats 1925 och hyrde det och döpte det till Villa Saint Louis. Här blomstrade det ljuva 20-talet och de hade dekadenta fester här för societeten att ta del av och Champagnen tog aldrig slut med gäster som Ramon Novarro, Hemingway, Gerald and Sarah Murphy, Rudolph Valentino, Florence and Frank Jay Gould and Picasso. Av hans personliga erfarenheter på rivieran så skrev han bland annat The Great Gatsby. Några år därefter så gjordes villan om till Hotel Belles Rives.
Det kändes fantastiskt att bo på ett hotell som detta med en sådan legendarisk historia och hotellet är sedan 30-talet familjeägt och har nu gått i arv i snart 4 generationer. Familjeägda lyxhotell har en speciell charm som är väldigt påtaglig! För att minnas det ljuva 20-talet så har hotellet fortfarande stora Champagne fester varje år i minne utav han som började allt nämligen Scott Fitzgerald. Hotellet har även en fullspäckad social kalender med olika events som hotellgästerna kan ta del av om de vill. Jag har verkligen fantastiska minnen från detta hotell som jag kommer ta med mig förevigt och jag är så glad att jag kan dela alla dessa otroliga resor tillsammans med Johan, känslan att kunna få uppleva världen tillsammans är verkligen magisk!
