5 things to do in Ubud

5 THINGS TO DO IN UBUD. One of my favourite excursions when we were on Bali was the day that we spent in Ubud. We ordered a taxi through our hotel which felt very safe, the taxi charges by the hour and we rented driver for I think 6-7 hours. To go from our part of Uluwatu to Ubud took a bit over 2 hours, the roads on Bali are not very good so transportation takes a lot of time, make sure to have that in mind when you make your schedule for the day so you have the time to go and see and do everything that you want to do. When we arrived in Ubud the roads are not better so getting from point A to B also takes a lot more time that you would think. Luckily we had the time on our side so we managed to do everything that we wanted to do before it started to get dark. Here is a list of 5 things that I think you shouldn’t miss while being in Ubud!

5 THINGS TO DO IN UBUD.

Ubud Palace – An absolute gem, a beautiful temple that can’t be missed!

Tegalalang Rice Terrace – The rice terraces of Tegalalang are beautiful and can’t be missed, this was our first stop of our Ubud excursion and I’m so glad we went!

Monkey Forest Ubud – If you are not afraid of monkeys a walk in the Monkey Forest could be a experience for you! The monkeys are wild and roaming free so make sure to hold your belongings close to you as the monkeys aren’t scared to come close..

Kopi Luwak Coffee farm Ubud – The world’s most luxurious coffee comes from the ‘Civet’ cat. Make sure to visit the Kopi Luwak farm while being in Ubud. The little Civet cat eats the coffee bean to then poop it out. The civet cat’s system gives a great flavour to the coffee bean which has made this coffee famous world wide!

Goa Gajah – Goa Gajah or the ‘Elephant cave’ is a cave from the 9th century, it served as a sanctuary. At the facade of the cave is a relief of various menacing creatures and demons carved right into the rock at the cave entrance. These appear to have been built to ward off evil spirits. If you enjoy history this is a site that you most definitely should visit!
