Waking up in the mountains

Photographer: Mon amour

WAKING UP IN THE MOUNTAINS. I love the interior design at the Riffelalp Resort, it’s the perfect mix between the classic wooden alpine look and a more modern and contemporary look! The entrance of our room was covered in wood from floor to walls as well as a big part of the living area but the sleeping area and our bathroom had a very sleek modern look with a touch of the more classic mountain look. The view from our room was over the Matterhorn mountain, we could lay in bed in the morning and look out on the mountain to watch the sunrise over Matterhorn, it was absolutely magical! One of the mornings we decided to do a in room breakfast to be able to get out in the slopes as fast as possible, lots of carbs to get all the energy you need to cope with the slopes! One of the worst feelings is to ski on a almost empty stomach, you become so weak so fast that’s way I always eat almost doubled portions when I’m skiing, that way you can enjoy the slopes even more!

WAKING UP IN THE MOUNTAINS.

The bed was so extremely comfy, it was like a fluffy piece of heaven!

All the doors at the hotel were hand painted, such a beautiful detail!

Loading up with lots of energy!

Tea in bed, a personal favourite!

The view from our room, over the beautiful Matterhorn!

I ate omelette with tomatoes and cheese with a side of avocado pretty much everyday! The best breakfast combo when in the mountains!

I love that the hotel is located on 2222m, you are in the middle of the ski system! Love it!
