Meiji Jingu

One of the most beautiful experiences in Tokyo was for sure to explore the beauty of Yoyogi park and the gorgeous temple of Meiji Jingu. A temple built in honour of the emperor Meiji and empress Shoken. The temple was built back in 1910 but it was destroyed during the second world war and was rebuilt again after that. That you can find a temple like this in the middle of Tokyo is absolutely amazing, surrounded by a beautiful forest. The air was so fresh and pure and we could walk around there for hours and just explore! The ritual that you go through before entering the temple is that you wash your hands with water which we did. We also wrote down our prayers on a pieces of wood that was was put under the tree (That you can see shown below in the picture). I loved experiencing Meiji Jingu, it was a beautiful experience that I will treasure forever.
